Ministries of our Church

Liturgical Ministry

Eucharistic Ministers
To assist the priest and deacon with administering the Eucharist and Sacred Blood for the Mass.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament provides time for individual prayer. We are in need of people who will commit to attending Adoration often.
Lectors

To perform the readings prior to the Gospel for the Mass.
Revelation 1:3 - Blessed is He who reads aloud the Words of prophecy...

Altar Servers
To assist the Priest in various ways during the mass including carrying the Cross, dressing the altar, holding the Bible, and collecting the gifts.
Prayer and Worship Committee
The Prayer & Worship Committee coordinates the practice of and activities related to celebrating the mysteries of our faith in communal worship.

Pastoral Care Ministries

Bereavement Team
Bereavement Team provides hospitality to our friends and neighbors during their time of loss.
Homebound Visitation
This ministry is devoted to alleviating what Mother Teresa called "the terrible poverty of loneliness" by providing visits to the homebound and elderly in our area.
Christian Service Committee
The Christian Service Committee members are parish members who have committed themselves to the many charitable functions and outreach activities of the parish.
Faith Formation
OCIA for Adults (formerly called RCIA)
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process whereby adults (18+) prepare to be fully initiated into the Catholic Faith by being prepared for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. During a series of sessions, adults are led through a Faith Journey to the Sacraments. Candidates for this are:
- Unbaptized adults who wish to learn more about the Catholic Faith and to possibly become Catholic.
- Baptized Christians from other denominations who would like to learn more about the Catholic Church and possibly be received into the Church.
- Baptized Catholics who would like to prepare for Eucharist and/or Confirmation by increasing their understanding of their Catholic Faith.
- Fully initiated Catholics who are interested in a “refresher course” in the Faith.
Evangelization
Its purpose is to initiate processes and programs which will assist with the spiritual growth of the parishioners, to reach out to fallen away Catholics and assist with their return to the Church, and to inspire and encourage those who may wish to join the Catholic Church.

Youth Faith Formation
Faith Formation works to educate our youth, so that learning and sharing of faith crosses generations and continues for a lifetime. To learn more about the faith formation opportunities available for youth please contact Maureen E. Billa or simply register below.

Committees

Pastoral Council (Joint Parish with The Church of St. Mary's)

We have one Parish Pastoral Council for the two parishes in our collaborative. The Pastoral Council assists the pastor in his leadership role of planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinating and reviewing the evangelization, worship, religious education and service activities within the parishes.

Financial Committee
Responsibly oversee the financial process for the parish, focusing on the guidelines of our Catholic tradition and acting with integrity, truthfulness and confidentiality. Meet twice a year with the Church of St. Mary.
Counters
Collection counters are assigned in teams of 2 or 3 persons and are responsible for counting parish offerings.

Rosary Altar Society
The Rosary Altar Society is a dedicated group of women helping to bring increased devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary through prayer and the recitation of the Rosary. All women of our Parish are welcomed and encouraged to join the Rosary Altar Society. Rosary Altar Society helps supply items needed for the altar.

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic benefit society, open to practicing Catholic men 18 years or older in union with the Holy See.
